We finish the Kepler's law Lab and pursue the Bode's law lab today.

Kepler's 3rd Law: Is P^2 = a^3?

Bode's Law: Create a mathematical model using Fathom and see how well it fits.

Major Project Proposals are due today.

The assignment made in last class called "Is Pluto a Planet?" is due. Turn it in at the beginning of class.

The next assignment is to begin a lab called "Ellipses." Work on this lab today. If you finish it, continue on with "Kepler's Laws."

Moon practice test + finish crater lab

Finish the moon crater lab.

Note: each groups' results should be slightly different, so beware of wholesale copying of answers.

We will also provide a practice test for the moon unit.

The moon test will be closed notes and will cover the following topics:

Lunar surface features
Phases
Tides
Origin and composition of the moon
Eclipses
Time units based on motions of the moon
History of lunar exploration

Eclipse of the century is a NOVA video. We did a puzzle about the movie contents.

We also assigned a problem from a photo of a lunar eclipse photo by Richard Hamilton.
